Environment

Big attention is given to avoid water and air contamination during our production process. Our operation is fully environmentally- friendly.

Although there are no dangerous emissions during crates production as we use only Food Grade raw Materials, we always monitor the impact of the production process towards the territory.

Cooling of our moulds and machinery is made with a closed circuit and high efficiency new concept chillers which guarantee a reduction on power consumption and no water contamination.
During recycling process we use closed circuit water for washing of grounded material and only 10% of water goes to sewerage after filtration.

Reduction of electricity consumption is one of our targets so that we are using high efficiency new Machinery which guarantees lower consumption per product.

We also pay big attention to all the wastage that may cause water and environmental pollution.

Lubricants necessary for our machinery are re-used after filtration with a proper device having a relevant save on use of new lubricants. Unusable

waste oils are then collected in dedicated drums which are sold to companies that will re-use it for heating purposes (furnaces).

Other environmentally dangerous products such as wastage of rags contaminated with inks and thinners, although the quantity is very limited, will be disposed in dedicated drums and delivered to garbage collectors.

Process

Recycling Process

Since 1996 Universal Plastic is paying attention to the recycling of beverage crates.
Nearly 30% of our crates are manufactured using recycled HDPE.

Collection and Sorting

Used beverage crates are collected and sorted from various sources, separating them from other plastic waste.

Granulation & Washing

Crates undergo shredding in high-efficiency granulators, followed by a thorough high-pressure washing process to remove contaminants and dirt.

HDPE Material Preparation

Cleaned plastic particles are mixed with virgin raw materials and UV additives, creating a balanced composition for the new crates.

Crate Production

The prepared HDPE material is molded using injection machinery, ensuring cleanliness through a flaming process. Crates are then printed with logos and undergo quality control checks before packaging.
